Salou is a coast town with a population of 23,398 (INE 2007) located in the Tarragona province (In Cataluña Spain), in Costa Dorada, 10 km from Tarragona city
Founded by the Greeks in the 6th Century a.C, the city was an important commercial port during the Medieval days and the modern age.

All along the 20th Century, Salou has became an important tourist centre.
In the surrounding areas of the city you can find Port Aventura a thematic park.

THE CITY

Salou is a tourist and residential city, that has consolidated itself as leisure and service center of the Costa Dorada due to its diversity, quality and quantity of its tourist installations.

It is in one way, a reference as a holiday point, as it concentrates the major tourist infrastructure of the Tarragona province (74 installations per accommodation). Besides this, it also holds one of the main attractions in Costa Dorada: The “Universal Mediterranea” complex, which consolidates the Salou product and its flow area as the major centre of leisure in the Catalonian coast and Mediterranean area.

The soft temperatures all year long, safe, shallow and fully equipped beaches, small coves of great natural and panoramic interest, the design and architecture of its cities, historical, archaeological and monumental points of interest, a vast variety of leisure and entertainment, have give Salou its name as “Capital of Costa Dorada” and have made her worthy of the first mark of Family Rourist Point of Cataluña.

Following the vast variety of services and activities in the beaches, there are initiatives to please all tendencies, habits and demands of the current tourist: the start of the project Nautical Station, the future construction of a road by the Cap Salou coves, with their coast environment and the realization of projects with an Excellence Tourist Plan that will make Salou an example for family tourism.

Salou has also become an important residential visit point, because of the town politics of services and modernization of the infrastructures, the correct balance of the grow of the territory and development plans that have open the housing market.
